Read for Rewards
A child photographs a few pages of a real book. The phone reads them, asks questions about what happened, and pays out points. A grown-up decides what the points can buy.
How it works
Scan a few pages. The phone reads the words, thinks up questions about what happened, and marks the answers, with the sentence from the book that proves each one. The more they read, the more points are going, and answering right first time earns all of them. The points buy whatever a grown-up has put on the list — an hour on the console, choosing dinner, a trip to the park.
Photographs of pages never leave the phone, and nor do names, answers or points. To write the questions, only the words from the page are sent to our server, which keeps no copy. On an iPhone with Apple Intelligence you can have the questions written on the phone instead.
What you need
An iPhone running iOS 16 or later, and a real book.
What it costs
Twenty-five pages free. After that, one subscription covers every reader on your devices: A$9.99 a year or A$1.99 a month. Families who bought the app outright keep it, with nothing more to pay.
